Small Book, Big Ideas | Note 37

The books I enjoy the most are usually written by people with whom I feel some sort of affinity. Even if it is only my own biassed perception, the feeling of sharing a similar experience with an author makes me much more interested in what they have to say.


I eagerly awaited Katie Boué’s debut book since she first announced it in the summer of 2022. Over many years of following Katie’s advocacy and adventure online, I have always seen a lot of myself in her – even if what she does, and how she tells her stories on social media has always been far grander and better than anything I could have ever done with my platforms. Even the timing of Katie’s book announcement seemed serendipitous as it came only a few weeks after my debut title, Born to Climb, was published.
